The Code and Pics

You can see the working Applet here.

It’s simple but it works.

Here is the final working product after a few tweaks. Covers the project requirements and I am happy to be done at the moment. Even though I would like to still build the large scale version.

New Mouse!

Yeah, I got it working! Wish there was a way to slow down the mouse movement like I could have done with the Ball Mouse. Either way this is a concept and a rough one at that but it works and I am happy with it for now.

Construction of Mouse Gallery

Today I started the build of my mouse gallery. I seem to be lacking the skill set for the type of gallery I want built. I may have to go back to the demos and work from there.

The build for the altered laser mouse is coming along. I think I will be tweaking my original idea to accommodate the time frame I have left and the mouse I will be working with. Found some parts around the house to use.
Only had to purchase some form of a sturdy tube material. This seemed a good thickness and just needed to be trimmed down.

Ball Mouse Fiasco

Last Friday I got my ball-mouse from a unexpected visit to the Goodwill. When I begun work with it on Saturday I realized it was completely broken. After hours of trouble shooting I decided to give up and go get a new mouse later in the weekend.

Turns out that Axe Man, and Midwest Surplus and Electronics don’t carry these items any longer. Axe Man due to not taking in old computers anymore and Midwest Surplus went out of business. Last hope was Micro Center and they laughed at me when I asked if they had one in stock.

Note: If you want a ball-mouse that works the only way to find one it seems is know somebody already with one, or GET IT ONLINE. This little advice will hopefully save some future students form the bad luck I seemed to have had trying to find a ball-mouse at the last minute.

I ended up using a mouse that I had laying around the house. It was a laser mouse…
